WEST SYSTEM offers Plain Weave E-fibreglass in full widths and Double Bias multi-axial fabrics in full widths and tapes for building composite laminates and selectively reinforcing structures.

Other orientations are available on request and advice on selecting the type of weave and orient the fibres to best address the direction of the loads within the structure is available from our Technical Team.

E-glass Plain Weave

E-glass Plain Weave

Woven E-Glass fabrics are ideal for building composite laminates and repairing fibreglass structures. They are also used to provide an abrasion-resistant covering for wooden boats and other timber structures. When wet-out, plain weaves become almost transparent, allowing a clear, natural wood finish. Note: When laminated with epoxy, the fibreglass still needs to be painted, clear finished with a clear 2-pack paint, or varnished to provide UV resistance 200 gram and 290 gram plain weaves, which are the most popular weights for the timber boat- building market and perfect for strip planked canoe. Available in roll quantities - Width 1000 mm : Length 100 Lm

Double Bias Fabric

Double Bias Fabric

400 grams Multiaxial E-glass has two layers, ±45° fibre orientation. Suitable for composites, repairs and reinforcing. Achieves high fibre-to-resin ratios are possible with hand wet-out. Available in roll lengths - Width 1270mm : Length 75.2 Lm XK0400 – 400 grm Double Bias E-Glass Tapes widths of 100mm, 150mm and 200mm / 75 Lm
