ATL Composites has been manufacturing WEST SYSTEM epoxy products in New Zealand and Australia under licence to Gougeon Brothers Inc USA since 1977. WEST SYSTEM epoxy is a marine industry standard and is the choice of professional boat builders for new boat construction, maintenance and repair of wooden boats and high-performance composite structures, as well as boat owners, DIY and hobby markets.

An extensive Distribution/Dealer network is active in every State and Territory to ensure that WEST SYSTEM marine epoxy products are backed with local supply, technical support and advice.

“There is a very special ambience at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival,” said ATL Director, Lorraine Duckworth. “We have missed attending over the past few years and we’re eager to return in 2023.”

According to Tim Oxley, AWBF Commercial Sales Manager, 2023 will be a bumper occasion, thanks to the huge number of vessels registered and exhibitors confirmed.

“To date, we’ve had close to 500 boats register,” he said. “That includes hundreds ashore, model boats and at least 300 on water. Most are from Tasmania and 80 or so are from the ‘mainland’. We have several Tall Ships, including Soren Larsen and Enterprize among the larger vessels.”

Held across Hobart’s vibrant waterfront, the four-day festival brings together the largest and most impressive collection of wooden boats in the southern hemisphere. From its humble beginnings in 1994, it has grown to become the most significant event of its kind in Australia.

Along with the exhibition of these beautiful boats, both afloat and ashore, the festival delivers a lively combination of delectable local food, live entertainment, music, demonstrations and displays.

Among the special exhibits and experiences are the Maritime Marketplace at Princes Wharf No. 1, Children’s Area on Parliament House Lawns, the Tasmanian Fishing Industry display, International Wooden Boat Symposium and Shipwrights’ Village.
